In de 19e eeuw speelden racisme, kolonialisme, antisemitisme, het patriarchaat en nationalisme een beslissende rol in de vorming van samenlevingen. Elke vorm van kennis die niet aansloot bij het ‘beschaafde’ werd systematisch vernietigd, maar deze gewiste verhalen blijven nog steeds ons heden beïnvloeden.
‘Ayur (The Moon)’ is het tweede deel van een trilogie die zich richt op de semantiek en mythologieën van de Imazighen, de inheemse bevolkingsgroepen van Noord-Afrika. Ayur/Tanith, een godin die in het Punische Carthago geassocieerd werd met de maan, is een solo door en met de Tunesische danseres Sondos Belhassen, gebaseerd op teksten geschreven door dichteres Lilia Ben Romdhane en rapper Mahdi Chammen “Massi”.

Ayur (The Moon) is the second part of a trilogy that focuses on the semantics and mythologies of the Imazighen, the indigenous populations of North Africa. Ayur/Tanith, goddess associated to the moon in the punic Carthage, is as a solo by and with Tunisian dancer Sondos Belhassen based on texts written by the poet Lilia Ben Romdhane and rapper Mahdi Chammen “Massi”.
